Indeed, I seem to remember that way back about 25 years ago (when Ebersol was the producer), Susan St. James was once guest hosting SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE. In her monologue, Ms. St. James was humorously talking about clearing up various "misunderstandings" allegedly surrounding her life and career. Once of these was that Susan St. James and Jill St. John were supposedly the same person. "Responding" to this, SSJ pointed to her chest and said something like, "I don't look like Jill St. John!" SNL continued on this subject a few years later. There was a skit showing groups of "similar" actors hanging around together in Hollywood (i.e. Fernando Lamas and Ricardo Montalban as "Hispanic has-beens," George Hamilton and George Maharis "over-the-hill pretty boys named George"). Susan St. James and Jill St. John were depicted as a social grouping, together with Eva Marie Saint. And of course, SSJ and JSJ were both in THE NAME OF THE GAME pilot with Tony Franciosa from SEARCH! I'd like to think that it's because Time Warner owns the rights to all things DC Comics/Batman that that's what's holding up any DVD release of the original Batman series. It still doesn't explain why the 1966 Batman movie (very much enjoyable!) is out and the series isn't. The Greenlawn/Greenway theory is plausible, though. Things would be so much simpler if Fox would just relinquish the Batman series to Time Warner and then we could go from there. I gave her a copy of "Search of Midas" and the web site to contact us. Of course she never contacted us. I asked her if she remembered Doug McClure and that episode. She said Doug McClure was a very nice man. One of these days I need to scan the picture I took of her and post it on the net. When I was done talking to her I looked across to the other table and saw Malachi Throne, He seemed very alert and had pictures from his guest appearance on Star Trek and a I think the Man From Uncle. I went and talked him and asked if he remembered doing "The Bullet" episode with Hugh O'Brian. I tried to jog his memory but he did not remember doing Search. I should have taken a picture. Also in attendance Adam West, Julie Newmar, Robert Vaughn, Jackson Bostwick (Shazam!), and some other ex-celebrities. I would like to see some stunt casting: I would like to see Natasha Wagner (Robert Wagner's daughter) play Alexander Mundy's daughter (perhaps after a daliance). Noah Bain finds out that she is in jail for petty theivery, and recruits her to work for him, giving her the same job that her father had (who has retired). But, Mundy doesn't want her to get into danger, so he comes out of retirement to help her. He being the con artist, and her now a second-story man. --- In probe_control@yahoogroups.com, Brooks Cook wrote: > > > On Feb 6, 2006, at 6:28 PM, Geoff Willmetts wrote: > > > Hello Brooks > > > > I think it would make more sense if Al Mundy had a son and the > > torch was > > passed. One is from The New York Times (which I found in our local library), another from the LA Daily News, and an AP obit from a Simi Valley newspaper. Thanks to Mark Dhillon for mailing in clippings of the last two articles. If anyone cannot get the larger version to appear, let us know. I can either email the articles to you directly or you can find them at the Yahoo Name of the Game group as JPGs in the Files section. http://tv.groups.yahoo.com/group/nameofthegame/ --Don 3628 From: yorktowncmdr@...
