SEARCH: Armed Forces Network & Far East Network
When the SEARCH mailing list began, we were only able to find nine episodes on video and these were dubs from the Armed Forces Network, probably from the late 1970's. While somewhat dark and fuzzy, we were glad to have these tapes at the time. The only other SEARCH-related items we had were either scripts, audio tapes and/or filmclips. (Some of us already had dubs of the SEARCH pilot movie which ran in general U.S. syndication.) Thankfully we have run across Trevor's dubs which are far away better in picture and sound quality.
Since we keep running into new people with episode dubs, I thought it would be a good idea to post some video captures from some of the AFN-FEN episodes, especially focusing on the bug logos which were chroma-keyed into a scene somewhere in most episodes.
If you are new to the list and you have some SEARCH episodes, check the scenes below. If your tapes match these scenes, we already have these dubs. However, we would be interested if anyone runs across AFN versions of some of the other episodes besides the ones featured below.
For comparison, Actingman posted captures of Trevor's tapes from seven of the last eight episodes at probecontrol.com in the images/slidescan section. http://probecontrol.com/Scans.html
Thanks to everyone for finding us and being a member of this list.

FEN stands for Far East Network (which is an offshoot of AFN)
and Misawa is a US base in Northern Japan.(I could not find a bug logo in "24 Carat Hit" or "Countdown to Panic."
If we missed it somehow, someone please let us know. Thanks.)--Don Harden
