NBC "SEARCH" Promo Transcript

At the end of the August 4, 1972 NBC repeat of the "Probe" pilot (renamed "Search" for the rerun), a promo for the then-upcoming "Search" series appeared.

Jim Alexander managed to make an audio tape of this promo and below is a transcript of what is heard in it. Jim's audio runs about 2 minutes and it has been transferred to audio CD-R and several of the list members have a copy of it.

Narrator (Marvin Miller, who was the voice of Robby the Robot in "Forbidden Planet," over the theme from the "Probe" pilot): Hugh O'Brian, Doug McClure, Tony Franciosa as Nick Bianco. From Probe Control, the most impressive communications center on the planet Earth. Burgess Meredith sends these bold agents out to search for (sound of a lion roar), adventure, romance, excitement, romance, danger. (Sound of cans crashing and falling.)

Clip from "One of Our Probes is Missing":
Jill: I did not consent to anything!
Bianco: Oh, I'm so relieved to hear that, Ms. Davenport. My respect for you has gone up 100 per cent.

Clips from "Moonrock":
Carlos: I definitely read a third pattern off presence.
(Then the moment Laura Trapnell screams in the cabin.)

Narrator: The ultimate weapon: the Probe scanner, a miniaturized two-way TV camera which sees everything. Well, almost everything.

Clip from "One of Our Probes is Missing":
Bianco (to Zacharian): I'll take that dinner tray and I'll shove it in your mouth crossways.

Narrator: On the go, always in search of the unusual. Always on the job.

Clip from "Moonrock":
Lockwood: Can we charter a flight?
Air Representative: You want to charter a 747... for two?
Lockwood: Crank it up and let's get airborne.

Narrator: Anywhere in the world, always on the run. You lose it, they find it.

Lockwood (scene cut from "Moonrock"): I'll teach you to dance like a gypsy.
Laura Trapnell: On the side of a mountain?

Clip from "One of Our Probes is Missing":
Bianco (after nearly getting hit by a car): I'm sorry, I'm not accustomed to London traffic.

Mulligan (scene cut from "Moonrock"): A little exertion goes a long way.

Clip from "Probe" pilot:
Cameron (as Lockwood kisses Ullie): Are you turned on?
Gloria: We have a lift off!

Narrator: Wednesday nights, NBC. Tony Franciosa, Hugh O'Brian, Doug McClure... Search! (As idling screen pattern rolls onto screen and fades out.)
